Privacy Policy

Thank you for using Piaro (the "App"), provided by Honeydew Design ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the App, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

The App does not require account registration and does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other identifying information (unless you voluntarily contact us by email). The information we collect is as follows:

Locally Stored Preferences
We store your selected theme mode and display language locally on your device. This data stays on your device and is never uploaded to any server.

Usage Data (collected via Google Firebase Analytics)
To understand how the App is used and to improve it, we collect the following anonymous usage data through Google Firebase Analytics:

• The chord root notes and chord types you select

• The inversions you switch to

• Session duration (how long the App is used in the foreground)

• A randomly generated identifier stored locally on your device, used to measure usage frequency and intervals between sessions (this identifier is not derived from your device hardware, is not linked to your identity, and we do not collect advertising identifiers/IDFA)

In addition to the above, the Firebase Analytics SDK automatically collects the following information as part of its standard functionality (not data we specifically programmed the App to collect):

• App installs, opens, and screen views

• Device model, operating system version, App version, system language, and time zone

• Approximate geographic location (country/region level) inferred from your IP address; Google does not retain the original IP address after location is derived

• An anonymous installation identifier automatically generated by Firebase

  
  

The App does not include in-app purchases, push notifications, or advertising features, so data categories related to these do not apply.

Crash and Stability Data (collected via Google Firebase Crashlytics and Apple)
To help us identify and fix issues, we use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports, which may include:

• Technical crash information (stack trace, exception type, thread state)

• Device model, operating system version, available memory and storage, battery status, and system language

• App version

• A brief record of recent in-App actions prior to the crash (such as chords selected or inversions switched), used to help us reproduce the issue

• An anonymous installation identifier generated by Crashlytics (independent from, and not linked to, the Analytics identifier described above)

We may also review aggregated, anonymized diagnostic data (such as crash rates, hangs, launch times, and OS version distribution) through Apple's App Store Connect platform. This data is collected directly by Apple as the platform provider and is subject to Apple's own privacy policy.

2. How We Use This Information

We use the information described above only to:

• Understand how users engage with the App's features, in order to improve the product

• Identify, diagnose, and fix crashes and technical issues

• Maintain the App's stability and proper functioning

We do not use your usage data for advertising purposes, and we do not sell or rent your data to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party service to process the data described above:

Google Firebase (including Analytics and Crashlytics) is operated by Google LLC. Google may process this data on servers located around the world. You can review Google's Privacy Policy here: https://policies.google.com/privacy

4. Data Retention

• Usage event data is retained for 2 months

• User-level data associated with the anonymous identifier is retained for 14 months; this period automatically resets with continued App use

5. Your Choices

You may manage App-related permissions at any time through your device's system settings. Because the App does not collect any information that identifies you personally, we are unable to provide, modify, or delete data tied to a specific individual upon request. If you wish to reset your anonymous analytics identifier, please contact us (see below) or delete and reinstall the App to generate a new identifier.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will indicate this by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
